Home Arts

Exhibits are limited to (5) PER DIVISION, per person.

Exhibits may not be removed from exhibit before the Fair ends.

All items should be crafted within the past two (2) years. The Fair Management reserves the right to refuse any entry deemed unsuitable as a Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show exhibit.

GATE ADMISSION & PARKING PASSES ARE NOT ISSUED TO EXHIBITORS.

ELIGIBILITY

Residents of Martin County are welcome to enter to exhibit at the Martin County Fair!

Age: Little Buds:5-8 years

Youth: 8-12 years

Teen: 13-17 years

Adult: 18-64

Seniors:64++ years

1st Place: Blue Ribbon$10

JUDGING

Each entry is judged fairly on its own merit, using the Danish Judging System.

The most qualified judges are used as available.

The names of exhibitors are concealed during judging. The entry of only one item in a division does not necessarily guarantee the top award for that entry.

No one is allowed to remain in the building during judging.

Please do not call to request results.

VOLUNTEERS WELCOME

Let us know if you are interested in volunteering with the Home Arts Team. This year, we have plans for activities and demonstrations for visitors of all ages. We look forward to you becoming part of the Fair Family. Call or email us!

You are welcome to schedule demonstrations of your talent! Painting, Clay, Woodworking, and other Artisan Crafting. Email the fair office to schedule a time during fair week.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Awards are based on:

          • Appearance, Eye Appeal, Display, Workmanship
          • Flavor and Texture
          • Originality

Bring all entries in covered disposable containers.

NO containers will be returned. Label container with name of item and your name.

The judge will open the product to test for flavor and consistency. The only acceptable containers for sealed exhibits are standard canning jars and lids. Jars must be clean. Rusty dirty caps or jars will not be accepted. No wax or paraffin may be used to seal jars. UNSEALED JARS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Only dried exhibits, oils, vinegars, and juices may be in non-canning containers.

Wines, beers, and liqueurs need not be sealed, but must have new corks or metal caps.

Baked Goods: A picture of your entry will be displayed with your recipe and ribbon.

All judging will take place January 30, 2026
Culinary Arts
All baking & candy entries must include recipe.

HORTICULUTURE

All honey and beeswax entries must have been produced within the last 12 months.

Submit extracted honey in standard one-pound glass jars.

Submit chunk honey in one-pound chunk honey jars with wide mouths and straight sides. One piece of comb per jar.

*FLOWERS / ARRANGEMENTS

Please display cut flower stems in a single stem vase.

Flower Arrangements can be in containers up to 1 gallon.

Calling all shutterbugs!

This is your chance to showcase to the community your creative eye.

SIZE OF ENTRIES:

Photographs will be no smaller than 8”x10” and no larger than 11”x14”.

Images must be “ready to hang”, framed with wire hanger, or matted with binder clips (please provide your own clips).

No Glass in Frames

Original Artwork Only.

* Digital - Digital Camera.

** Digital Manipulation - Photoshop or similar software enhancements.

FINE ARTS

The goal of Fine Arts exhibits is to provide exposure for aspiring artists of all ages and to inspire public appreciation of locally generated art.

SIZE OF ENTRIES: No larger than 24” x 36”.

Images must be “ready to hang”, framed with wire hanger or matted with binder clips (please provide your own clips).

No Glass in Frames
