OUR FAIR HISTORY

The Martin County Fair was the brainchild of Levi Johnson, Martin County's University of Florida Extension Office Agent. The fairgrounds was originally the home of mini-car racing, and had an oval racetrack where the Midway now sits.
In 1959, Levi Johnson got together with Ed Higbee, Jim Foster , and Pat DiMinico, and started up a small carnival to go with the races. Soon after, they introduced farm animals and other components that typically make up a traditional "fair". We've been here ever since, providing Family Friendly entertainment and activities.
Some of the better known entertainers that have crossed our stage include Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Tracey Lawrence, Neal McCoy, and Florida Georgia Line.

About The Martin County Fair

We are the best of Martin County; an all-Martin County fair organized solely by volunteers to benefit and promote our county’s youth, agriculture, horticulture and community resources in one amazing annual event! We are governed by a Board of Directors who live and/or work in Martin County. The Martin County Fair Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, and we’re proud to be the only event in Martin County chartered by the Florida Department of Agriculture. Our Urban Agriculture exhibits are the window to Martin County’s agricultural heritage, and create new cultural traditions. We will develop and nurture the friendly competition of county youth groups such as 4H, FFA, and school and community clubs. We will provide a forum for residents of Martin County to showcase their livestock and crops, including backyard chicken coops, rabbits, honeybees, goats, horses and more, as well as container, organic, community, vertical and hydroponic gardens. A variety of events are scheduled for the 60th Annual Martin Country Fair, and will include continual entertainment on stage; a midway carnival; family shows; tasty fair food, and more! In addition, there will be many other competitions and displays that include entries from Martin County students and adults alike. Categories such as baking, wood carving, photography, sewing, quilting, horticulture, and more! The 60th Martin County Fair is all about good, wholesome family fun, great entertainment, friendly competitions, community pride, and educational experiences for the whole family!
