The Amazing Anastasini Circus

Anastasini’s are World Class Performers

One of the proudest families in the Circus Industry, the Anastasini family comes back to the Martin County Fair for their third straight year.  The Anastasinis are eighth-generation World Class Entertainers.  Since 1877, Anastasinis have been delighting audiences all over the globe. They are renowned for their performances packed with the epitome of professionalism, spontaneity, charm and elegance. The Anastasini Ancestry has for eight generations continued to raise the bar in the presentation of quality entertainment. Talented predecessors have inspired the current generation of Anastasinis to deliver even more precision, originality, and skill in their thrilling contemporary versions of big top maneuvers. This season, Luciano Anastasini returns to the circus ring as a bumbling buffoon of a ring master, who tries unsuccessfully to corral his multiple mischievous puppies. Anastasini and his wife, Gladis, come from generations of Italian-American circus performers. They had their own flying trapeze act before Luciano suffered a career-ending injury in the mid-1990s when he fell from the Wheel of Destiny, a large spinning wheel that rotates and spins high in the air. After multiple surgeries and years of recovery, Anastasini re-invented himself with a clown act featuring up to seven dogs, all rescued from various shelters around the nation. The Anastasini Circus will be performing 27 performances over the nine day run at the fair!  There will be a special performance on Senior Citizen Day, February 14th.

Larry Johnson’s "Essence of Motown"

This year’s Martin County Fair has a Sunday line-up that starts out with a baby contest, ends with a father son singing duo, and is anchored by Detroit native Larry Johnson and his Essence of Motown Show. Backed by singers Stephanie Grace and Di Di McFadden the three not only cover many of the big Motown hits, but bring you top songs from several decades. Presently, Johnson is performing with 3x Grammy Award winning Richard Street’s Temptations all over the world, but has begun to develop a local following with this show. A gifted singer from a young age Johnson has developed an incredible first tenor voice that graces all of the high harmonies and amazingly recreates all of the original leads sung by that part when with Richard Street’s Temptations.  Johnson, who this past year has performed in Germany, Japan, and all over the United States, now resides in Port St. Lucie. Back-up singer Di DI McFadden comes to the group by way of Hawaii, and has spent time performing in Las Vegas.  She’s also a talented drummer and guitarist with an ability to cover jazz, rock, Motown and native Hawaiian music. Stephanie Grace, brings a love for Motown, and many of the disco hits to stage with grace and ease. Her love for dance is seen as the three perform choreographed moves to many of the songs.  Larry Johnson’s Essence of Motown will be performing on the Caboodle stage along the midway for two shows Sunday, February 12th 3:00pm and 5:30pm. Sunday also features The Avenue D Boys Choir from Fort Pierce, The Redeemer Lutheran Bell Choir, United by Grace, and The T’ N T Music Show.  Also scheduled are The Little Miss Martin County Pageant and The Itty Bitty Pretty Baby Beauty Bonanza.

Avenue D Boys Choir is more than “Just a Choir" - Main stage at 3:30pm

Avenue D Boys Choir

Their story is simple. It's about the life changing experiences of young men when they are empowered to believe in themselves and are supported by others. Under the direction of Dr. Earl W. Hendricks and his wife Mary S. Hendricks the Avenue D Boys Choir has been a fulfillment of their dreams while in Jamaica. In March 2004, upon their return from Jamaica where Mrs. Hendricks was the musical director of an all-boys choir, the Hendricks’ found themselves faced with a brand new challenge—organizing a multi-cultural, all-boys choir in Fort Pierce. Embraced by the vision of providing a safe-haven for area young men facing gang violence, drugs, delinquency, poverty and high drop-out rates, the choir was named after the most infamous street on the Treasure Coast: Avenue D. A tribute to show support to family, friends and neighbors struggling to get past the negative stigma associated with living in this neighborhood. Standing on Avenue D, Dr. and Mrs. Hendricks recruited 8 cautious and bewildered teenage boys for their first choir rehearsal. But appreciating the positive and disciplined structure of the choir, and feeling the unconditional love and compassion of the Hendricks’, word quickly spread of this new program. Within a few days, the choir grew to 18 “rough around the edges” members. Since 2004 the Avenue D Boys' Choir has nurtured the souls and minds of our young men to ensure they will be the best sons, brothers, friends, and students today; and the finest husbands, fathers, colleagues, and leaders in the future. This is not only your chance to hear a wonderfully talented choir, but to support one of the areas most worthwhile endeavors that is changing and shaping the lives of young men and women in their community. Faith Night

Faith Night Returns to Martin County Fair Feb 14th

Code and The Great Transparency with special guest JDUB

Main stage at 7:30pm

In keeping with the spirit of love and faith, Tuesday, Feb14th, 7:30pm brings two Contemporary Christian Rock Bands to this year’s fair. Code of Ethics and The Great Transparency will provide an energetic and relevant message of God’s love.

Code

Code Of Ethics

Code of Ethics formed in the early '90s with Barry Blaze and Eric Switzer. After several record labels they had their first #1 radio single "Something Real". Later, Jeff Anderson would join for 1995's Arms Around the World, an album that would not only give Code two more #1's, but also let Code of Ethics receive its first Gospel Music Award Nomination in 1997. Barry Blaze has been leading worship in the Jacksonville Florida since 2001, after a near fatal motorcycle accident in 2004 and a lengthy recovery period to restore partial hearing and vision; he recorded "Lost In Egypt" that was released Feb 2009. "Barry is embarking on a new project under the name of Code (Razzbarry). Code digitally released a 10 track album entitled Beautiful Thing on October 4th through Go Global Entertainment.
Blaze calls this “the album that almost didn’t happen.” After a stressful year of supporting his sister through chemotherapy, watch his father pass away from pancreatic cancer, and catching a virus which wiped out even more of his already damaged hearing, Blaze felt that his musical writing days may have been over.
Though Blaze wanted to write another album, overcoming his writer’s block was wearing on his spirits.
After days of struggling to find his musical voice, Blaze prayed a simple prayer: “God, we’ve had a good run making music together for over twenty years, and I have no regrets. If you want me to make another Code record then you’ll have to send your spirit to inspire and write through me, and if not, well I’m fine with that too.”
Not even two hours after Blaze prayed that prayer did he begin to write “Hey Death,” a song about how trivial death really is when an eternity with Christ is awaiting you.
Some say this new album is stylistically reminiscent of Code of Ethics album Arms Around the World (1995). There are acoustic elements mixed with both electronic and industrial sounds.
Beautiful Thing includes his own version of the worship song Blessed Be The Name and a new rendition of Somebody Waiting, a song off his Lost in Egypt (2008) album.
An album dedicated to his earthly father, Julius Blazs, Beautiful Thing serves as a testament that no matter how tough life gets, God is always very real and very present—even in the darkest, most trying times of life.
ABOUT BARRY BLAZE:
Barry Blaze is the founder of the Dove Award nominated Christian electronica/pop band Code of Ethics. Blaze is currently residing in Jacksonville, FL with his wife Cynthia. He is a worship leader for Edgewater Church in St. Augustine, FL.
ABOUT RAZZBARRY RECORDS
Razzbarry Records (Jacksonville, Florida) is an independent label founded by Barry Blaze in 2007. Their current roster includes The Great Transparency, Code of Ethics, Blaze’s solo worship venture as Barry Blaze, and Blaze’s latest project CODE."

The Great Transparency

The Great Transparency

With this life being so quick, and often taken for granted, the focus of The Great Transparency as a band has been to show that there is so much to live for while we are on this earth, and that God has given us this time to make an impact. Making an impact is just what The Great Transparency hopes to do. Since forming in early 2006, the power-pop rock outfit out of central Ohio has worked hard to establish themselves as a touring force, but more importantly, hoping to share God's love with anyone that will listen.
Having performed over 600 concerts including frequent appearances at Ichthus, Cornerstone, Pro-Life, and Christian Rock festivals, touring alongside bands such as Eleventyseven, Manic Drive, Me In Motion, Hello Kelly, and Satellites & Sirens, as well as leading praise and worship for several camps and retreats, The Great Transparence has become a mainstay in the national touring circuit. The band has also independently released two EP's, the latter entitled "If Worse Comes To Worst", receiving strong reviews as well as national radio attention with the single "Run For It", produced and co-written by Dove award winner and Grammy nominee Barry Blair, formerly of Audio Adrenaline. This past year saw the band topping the Christian Rock charts with their latest release "......Rebuild Your Love'. The title track was a # 1 hit in 2011, staying on the charts for over 20 weeks. Barry Blair also co wrote the newest hit single "Chaos Parade" that is currently #16 on the christian rock charts and still climbing."

JDUB

JDUBJDUB

JDUB's new single "Stand On It"

Through hip hop beats and catchy lyrics, Stuart rapper Jeff Williams, 33, preaches the word of God. But at the start of his music career, a 13-year-old Williams was skipping school and going to bars and night clubs with his father's local rock band, Baracuda, to rap about glorifying drugs, sex and riches. "My brother, who is my mentor in all things, saved me and led me to the Lord," said Williams, who goes by JDUB. "Going to church was like a slap in the face and a dunk in cold water. I realized the music I was making was the opposite of what it should it be." Williams continues making music about the same topics. This time, though, his perspective is different. "I still talk about smoking weed and wanting money," he said. "My audience is the people who are listening to Lil Wayne or Kanye (West). But, I'm telling listeners the truth about where weed and sex and wanting money will really lead them — nowhere good." Amy Yeager, 19, first heard JDUB at a concert at her local church, First Baptist Church of Lake Park. At the time, she was getting into trouble at school and dealing with an abusive boyfriend. "One of his songs, called 'The Key,' made me want to change my life," Yeager said. "JDUB made me accept Christ. He, his music, saved me." Yeager, who now goes to church every Sunday and Wednesday, was baptized last month. Williams spends several days a month performing at churches from Fort Pierce to Miami, as well as occasionally opening up for such Christian artists as Grammy-nominated rock band Fireflight. The independent artist has completed four CDs, of which 4,000 copies have sold. In the works is his fifth album, titled "5." This year, Williams, who writes all his lyrics, released the single, "He Changed Me." The song was picked up by six stations across the nation, he said. "Would I love to get signed by a big label? Absolutely," Williams said. "I want to be able to do my music full time, but right now I'm doing the things that are most important to me." Williams is a husband and father of two girls, Jalynn, 7, and Eden, 10, both students at Crystal Lake Elementary in Stuart. When he's not rapping, he's working at Palm Beach Atlantic University as a records coordinator and as a part-time children's pastor at Stuart's Covenant Fellowship Baptist Church. Williams said he maintains his spiritual health mentally by listening to Christian songs. "Sure, if there's something new I want to give a quick listen to, I will," he said. "But, it's that mainstream rap that encouraged me as an adolescent to do what I was doing. Because of it, I thought missing 46 days of school in sixth grade was cool. Music is a state of mind, and that's why my music is the same beat as what's popular, but it sends a message of love, respect and faith."

The Shakers - R&B group

The Shakers

The Shakers were born in 1995, from the womb of the treasure coast “Queen of the Blues”, Cookie Mariano. Through shear musical talent alone the Shakers have become the premier musical group on the treasure coast. Without much publicity or promotion the Shakers have steadily built a loyal fan base and established themselves as a venerable “house band” at many of their venues. The band consists of Mike Loschiavo; drums, Pete Quigley; guitar, Mike Howard; bass, Glen Whalen; keyboards, and Gene Oliveri; sax. Many compositions feature the sound of Oliveri's passionately powerful saxophone. His tenor styling is reminiscent of the early honkers of the 40s' and 50s', such as Red Prysock, Illinois Jaquet and Sam Butera and the soulful 60s' sound of King Curtis and Jr. Walker. The musicianship is superb, the energy supplied by Oliveri not only on his sax but with his lead vocals, and spice of the “Joe Cocker” voice of Whalen and this band can wail any R&B number. Audiences and Club owners alike willfully give testament, “The Shakers are my favorite band!”.

Gregg Jackson and the Mojo Band

 Gregg Jackson

Known as "Mr. Motown," Gregg has a smooth style, rich voice, and dance moves rivaling legendary Motown groups for which he has opened including The Spinners and The Four Tops. Jackson has performed with some of the legends of music such as Otis Redding, and Ike and Tina Turner. Probably the “best dressed” performer on the treaure coast his stage persona is second to nome. It's always a pleasure to listen to Gregg, and hard to resist getting up to dance when he sings classics from that era, or contemporary jazz and R&B tunes. Along with the Mojo Band this group has plenty of audience appeal. The band has been near the top of R&B bands in the country in competitions held in Memphis, Tennessee. Together will the Shakers and “Special Guests”, this is one show you won’t want to miss.
